Graston Technique
Graston Technique® is a unique, evidence-based form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) that enables clinicians to effectively address scar tissue, fascial restrictions and range of motion through comprehensive training, resulting in improved patient outcomes.
Graston® uses six patented stainless steel instruments of different shapes and sizes to fit the body as needed. The instruments are used to detect and treat scar tissue and soft-tissue restrictions that may be contributing to a patient’s symptoms and limiting his or her ability to perform activities of daily living.
The treatment goal and process of the Graston Technique® is to first “break up” these adhesions by breaking down the collagen cross-links that have been formed.
